Empire Gudgeon ( Hypseleotris compressa )
 
Australian Native Empire Gudgeon found down the coast of Qld and Nsw. This species is well loved by the native community an catches most people eyes by the bright red/orange colour in most males.
Empire Gudgeons can be a good addition to many community tanks.
 
Size/Lifespan:  Empire Gudgeons grow to around 10-12cms.
With proper care can live around 3-5 years.
 
Habitat: Strong filtration is suggested to keep water pristine. Can use a range of substrates however a Fine/soft sand/river gravel works best as well as adding smooth rocks and lots of plant cover for hiding.
 
Temperatures 11-34 degrees.
 
Diet: These guys will eat a range of foods and will happily take anything from flakes, pellets, frozen foods like brine shrimp or blackworms but also love live foods like bring shrimp, worms, shrimp etc,
